In Dread’s latest film Tin Can, Fret, a parasitologist, wakes up in a tiny chamber with no recollection of how she got there. Desperate to create a cure for a plague ravaging humanity, she fights to escape and save the world. But of course, it won’t be that easy. Director Seth A. Smith’s film is a claustrophobic, uncomfortably prescient experience with a gorgeous, yet unsettling, vibe.
We spoke with Smith over Zoom about Tin Can, how medieval aesthetics inspired the film, slime mold, and more!
Tin Can is now available on demand and comes to Blu-ray on September 6.
