A handful of our favorite shows are returning later this year, including FX’s vampire series “The Strain.” Though we don’t yet have an official date for the Season 2 premiere, we’ve just been provided with a teaser, which urges that the season will be a fight or die situation. Dig it!
As we recently reported, Joaquín Cosío will be joining Season 2 as ‘The Silver Angel,’ a Mexican wrestler-turned-vampire killer. Ron Canada is also on board, portraying New York City’s mayor. In addition, Ephraim Goodweather’s son Max has been recast, Season 1’s Ben Hyland being replaced by Max Charles (American Sniper).

“The Strain” is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
