Goosebumps Gets Serious Scribes

Now this is an interesting development that may just make me want to get out and see the first Goosebumps feature when it’s all said and done. As you may recall, Columbia Pictures bought the rights to the popular young adult horror series back in May; this morning THR is reporting on the first two writers to join the project: Larry Karaszweski and Scott Alexander.

Those names may not jump off the screen at you, but their past work likely will. Ed Wood, The People Vs. Larry Flynt and 1408 to name a few. Mayhap Columbia is taking this potential franchise seriously, eh?

No word on what the scribes will be writing was mentioned, but since they have over 50 books in the series to choose from, it’s anyone’s guess. I just really, really hope it’s not a ghost or vampire story. A Goosebumps video game is also in the works from Scholastic with a planned fall launch.

Keep it here for all the details as they come in!
