This past weekend in Dayton, OH, there was an intimate screening of Nightbreed: Director’s Cut (review), and of course we have some quotes for you from the folks in attendance!
Craig Sheffer, who plays the lead, Aaron Boone, said regarding the Director’s Cut, “Clive’s vision has finally come to life. A fantastic work of art in the tradition of noir classics that embrace the strange and erotic. Really a remarkable piece, and we have Clive and his fans to thank for making it happen.”
Anne Bobby, who played Lori Winston, added, “The Nightbreed: Director’s Cut is the script I first read. I feel so redeemed now that Clive’s film has been restored. I am thrilled for everyone.”
Nicholas Burman-Vince, who played Kinski, reveals, “A heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone at Occupy Midian, Russell Cherrington, Mark Miller, and most of all, Clive Barker for bringing us the Director’s Cut… and for bringing us all together.”
Chris McCorkindale, who played Shuna Sassi, said, “I am very happy and excited to see the film that Clive originally envisioned. After 25 years having the opportunity to reconnect with the other cast members in a way I wasn’t able to originally has been such a delight.”
Simon Bamford, who plays Ohnaka in the film, enthused,”It’s remarkable really; 25 years ago I flew to Los Angeles for the premiere of Nightbreed, but it never happened. When I flew back to London, we did some pickups and that was it. Now, 25 years later, I’m here returning to Los Angeles to witness Nightbreed that finally fulfills what Clive envisioned. It doesn’t get much better than this.”
Michael Plumides, Executive Producer, as listed in the liner notes, stated, “I became involved because I was under contract for the developing TV series, which would never get off the ground until we could show the world that this forgotten gem would be as beloved and embraced as we knew it would. David Robinson, Mark Miller, editor Andrew Furtado, Cliff MacMillan at Shout Factory, Occupy Midian – we have all worked tirelessly to bring the fans what they beckoned for, Clive Barker’s intended film, free of studio interference. The fans were responsible for resurrecting this true work of fantasy and the supernatural back from the dead. Revolution Studios recently acquired Morgan Creek’s Library for international distribution, so hopefully there will soon be a European release as well.”

Synopsis
Boone (Craig Sheffer) may be a troubled young man, but his troubles are just beginning. Set up as the fall guy in a string of slasher murders, he decides he’ll hide by crossing the threshold that separates “us” from “them” and sneak into the forbidden subterranean realm of Midian. Boone will live among the monsters. Hellraiser creator Clive Barker writes (adapting his novel Cabal) and directs this vivid leap into horror that asks: In the battle of man vs. monster, who’s really the monster? The answer supplies flesh-crawling suspense, sudden fear, a colorful Danny Elfman score, and a creepy array of shape-shifting beings. They are the Nightbreed, denizens of a world beyond death, beyond the imagination, perhaps beyond anything you’ve seen.
