NECA Plays Hockey with NES Jason Voorhees Replica Mask

Ever since NECA released an NES-inspired Jason Voorhees figure at Comic-Con last year, purple and blue Jason has been absolutely EVERYWHERE, turning in one single year from zero to hero.

And the unexpected revival of the character’s most oddball incarnation is showing no signs of slowing down, as NECA has just unveiled a full-size replica mask based on the game.

Teased at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, we’ve now got a full look and more details about the mask, which will glow in the dark – much like the mask worn by the company’s sought after 8-bit action figure.

The hand-painted reproduction features elastic harness straps that allow you to wear it or hang it on the wall. As a bonus, it comes in unique, game-inspired packaging.

Unfortunately, the mask isn’t due out until November, which makes it a no-go for this year’s Halloween. Sad face.

I’m typically against cool ideas being milked to death, but in the case of this particular one, I say keep the products coming!
