I have to admit, it’s pretty exciting that Raimi’s making his way back to our genre; I just hope the result is not as lame as most of the output from his own Ghost House Pictures label. Drag Me to Hell is the story of the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse, so already we’re hovering in Ghost House territory. Unless, of course, that curse comes from something in the woods, which would make me smile.
Universal Pictures chairman Marc Shmuger and co-chairman David Linde called Page’s addition to Drag Me to Hell “an abundance of riches” in Variety, which is kind of a weird way to say they’re happy she’s on board, don’t you think?
Raimi directs from a script he wrote with brother Ivan, which seemed to work out pretty well for Army of Darkness, so here’s hoping!
