The Cottage Gets a Trailer

Strangers don’t fare well in these parts.” That’s the kind of warning we Americans usually hear with a Southern twang attached, but this time it is oddly more … British. Yeah, I wasn’t sure what to make of that either.

Then today Empire Magazine got the exclusive trailer for Paul Andrew Williams’ The Cottage, and it all made a little more sense. We’ve seen plenty of evil farmers and the like here in the States, but can our English chums make it fresh again? Click here to check out the trailer and post your thoughts below.

Empire was also able to provide us with a few more details than we had before about the film’s plot (“Poster for UK’s The Cottage” – January 2008):

A world away from his familiar territory of punch-drunk prostitutes and violent pimps, Williams’ sophomore effort finds a gangster’s daughter Tracey (Ellison) kidnapped by brothers David (Andy Serkis) and Peter (Reece Shearsmith) and dim-wit Andrew (Steven O’Donnell) and forced to hole up at a secluded country cottage.

Attempting to stay hidden from the mob boss and his henchmen, the kidnappers and kidnappee find themselves in a whole bunch of trouble of a different sort when an evil farmer shows up with murder on his mind.”
