Karaoke Terror Comes Home!

Though most of you’ve probably never even heard of it, those who have will be happy to know that Karaoke Terror (review) has finally got a DVD release date via Synapse Films according to KFC Cinema; April 29th, 2008!

Though the full title is actually Karaoke Terror: The Complete Japanese Showa Songbook, something tells me Synapse will shorten it for release. Karaoke Terror is about the clash between two worlds; that of bored middle-aged women in love with the Japanese past time and that of bored 20-something slackers who have nothing better to do. When a member of the latter accidentally kills a member of the former, all hell breaks loose.

Even though it sounds pretty ridiculous, it’s actually been very well-received everywhere it’s played for the last few years so I’m glad we’ll finally get a chance to see it here in the states. The only features we know of for sure are liner notes by Midnight Eye’s Nick Rucka, but I’m sure more are planned. Keep it here for details as we learn ‘em!
