Swank to Travel to Fangland?

I can’t tell if this is supposed to be a comedy or not, but this morning Daily Variety reported that Hilary Swank is in final negotiations to star in Fangland, an adaptation of the eponymous novel by John Marks.

It sure sounds like a comedic premise; a TV producer heads out to Romania for an interview with a notorious European arms dealer, who it turns out is actually Dracula. Yes, the Dracula. Marks used his experience as a “60 Minutes” producer when writing his novel; screenwriter Mark Wheaton used his experience as a horror fan when penning the first draft of the script.

Apparently the novel parallels Bram Stoker’s Dracula in several ways and has been highly praised since it’s release. Feel free to nab yourself a copy right here in preparation for the film, which we’ll give you more updates on as we hear ‘em!
