Gaiman spoke to Sci Fi Wire recently and explained that even he’s only seen about 10 minutes from the movie, 10 minutes that were apparently taken out to audiences as a special bonus at festivals, which ones we don’t know; “The audience went absolutely nuts” Gaiman said, “It’s the best stop-motion thing I’ve ever seen shot in 3-D.”
The story, if you’ve forgotten, is about a bored little girl who finds a bricked-up door in her new house. When she finally goes through the door she finds a much more pleasant life waiting for her with button-eyed parents who actually pay attention to her, but something is just not right about this place and soon she learns the sinister truth.
They’re hoping to have Coraline: An Animated Love Story done and out by next year, so expect to get updates more and more frequently in the coming months!
