THR reports that It is shifting to Warner’s New Line division, as the studio siblings are drawing clearer distinctions about the types of movies they make. From this point forward, it seems, all Warner Bros. horror films will be made and released under the New Line banner, which has long been referred to as ‘The House that Freddy Built,’ due to the Nightmare on Elm Street films putting it on the map.
Cary Fukunaga (“True Detective”) will write and direct the film, which will actually be split into two parts. As of now, the plan is for the first movie to tell the kids’ story and the second movie to focus on the adults.
centers on seven children in a small Maine town who confront the source of a series of murders in 1958 and then in 1985, when the cycle begins again.
More as it comes.
