According to The Tracking Board, Universal Pictures has turned to its in-house low-budget maven Jason Blum to get the planned remake of The Sentinel back on track.
The original, which was based on the book of the same name from author Jeffrey Konvitz, centers on a young woman who moves into a NYC apartment, only to discover that it may be the gateway to hell. The original film, which was directed by Michael Winner, was set to be remade by Universal back in 2003, but the studio struggled to find a way to get the project out of development hell.
In the film Winner turned to actual disfigured people to portray the minions of Hell. If that wasn’t uncomfortable enough, behold a scene featuring Beverly D’Angelo masturbating furiously in front of her neighbor during tea time! Ah, the good old days!
