Per Deadline, Patrick J. Adams (pictured right; “Suits”) has been set as the male lead, Guy (played by John Cassavetes in Roman Polanski’s 1968 feature adaptation), opposite Saldana in the four-hour miniseries, an adaptation of the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin.
Jason Isaacs (pictured below; “Awake”) has also joined the production, which is being directed by Agnieska Holland (In Darkness, “Treme”). Isaacs will play warlock/coven-leader Roman Castevet, a role played by Sidney Blackmer in Polanski’s version.
Rosemary and her husband, Guy, move into a Paris apartment that has a darkly storied past. After finally getting pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious that both Guy and their mysterious neighbors have ulterior motives about the future of her child.
The project, penned by Scott Abbott and James Wong, is exec produced by Joshua Maurer, Alix Witlin, and David Stern with Saldana, Cisely Saldana, and Mariel Saldana producing.
Filming on “Rosemary’s Baby,” produced by Lionsgate TV, is slated to begin shortly in Paris.
