Sam Neill Not Revisiting Jurassic World

During a recent interview actor Sam Neill spoke out about whether or not he’d be returning as Dr. Alan Grant for Jurassic World if given the opportunity. Fans hoping for a resounding ‘YES’ to that question are in for a disappointment.

“Look, you never say no,” Neill answered. “I think there’s a whole new cast and a whole new look at things, and I think that’s great. As I said, I’d never say no, but I wish them… well, I’m sure it’s going to be great, but they don’t need me.”

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, and Nick Robinson are in various stages of talks to star. Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) penned the script with Derek Connolly and will direct the film. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is known that Robinson would play Simpkins’ older brother.

Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Pat Crowley will produce Jurassic World, which is set to begin filming in early 2014. The dinosaurs will hit theaters June 12, 2015.
