American Horror Story: Coven Enjoys Biggest Premiere of the Franchise!

Good news for the creators of “American Horror Story: Coven”! The show, which launched Wednesday night (10/9/13), scored the franchise’s biggest audience ever. The debut was seen by 5.5 million viewers, up 44 percent from last year’s “American Horror Story: Asylum.”

If you add the show’s first encore, “AHS” had a total of 7.8 million.

Fiona (Jessica Lange) helps Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) and Madison (Emma Roberts) deal with a horrible tragedy. Meanwhile, Delphine LaLaurie (Kathy Bates) struggles to adjust to modern life. Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) faces a dark decision about her family. Written by Tim Minear and directed by Michael Rymer.
