The film garnered much praise, but many believed it would never receive distribution due to the fact that it was illegally shot at the parks.
Despite the legal issues, per the LA Times, Escape From Tomorrow has in fact been picked up for distribution and will see release courtesy of Cinetic Media’s distribution offshoot PDA. It’s set for limited theatrical release on October 11th, with an On Demand release on the very same day. The version that sees release will be 15 minutes shorter than the one shown at Sundance, which many criticized for running a little too long.
The film centers around a man who finds out he has been laid off while he’s on vacation with his family, resulting in a series of surreal and disturbing visions and experiences, which see the park taking on a sinister quality. It stars Roy Abramsohn, Elena Schuber, Katelynn Rodriguez and Jack Dalton.
