Just got the official word from the folks at Screamfest that David Arquette’s directorial debut, the political horror film The Tripper, will be having its worldwide premiere at this year’s festival!

The Los Angeles Screamfest runs October 13th-22nd at the Mann Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. 2006 will, appropriately, be its sixth annual event, and every year it just keeps getting cooler and cooler stuff. “We are extremely excited to present the world premiere of David Arquette’s directing debut,” said festival founder Rachel Belofsky in a press release. “Fans are going to have a blood-soaked good time.”

Passes for the festival are already on sale through its official site, so make sure if you’re going to be around for any of it that you get yourself some tickets. The Tripper will be joined by many other great and/or soon-to-be great horror films like Unholy, and it’d suck a lot for you if you missed it. Look for a full schedule on their site this month!
