Feijen’s new book, Disciple of Decay, features five years of urban exploration images from abandoned farmhouses and boarded up homes. The collection contains ghostly photographs of rooms frozen in time, looking as if the former owners could return at any moment. Beds made, shoes sitting beside a chair, even an antique baby stroller set beside a dirty, smeared window, never to be used again.
The entire series is not only eerie but a reminder of the frailty of life and how nature eventually absorbs the human footprint, no matter how deep it’s laid.
