Curry, of course, rose to fame as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 cult musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show while many horror fans credit his performance as Pennywise in “It” for causing a life-long fear of clowns. Most recently he appeared in Gingerclown, Burke and Hare, and the “Alice” TV mini-series. Unmarried, he lives in the Hollywood Hills in a Spanish colonial-style villa.
Few details were available about his stroke, but sources close to the actor refused suggestions that it had made it difficult for him to speak. “Tim is doing great,” said his longtime Los Angeles agent Marcia Hurwitz. “He absolutely can speak and is recovering at this time and in great humour,” she added.
UPDATE: Prior reports were a bit vague as to the time frame of Burton’s illness, but THR learned from Hurwitz the stroke happened last July, and not on Thursday, as had been previously indicated.
Regardless of whether it was days ago or months ago, we send out good thoughts to Tim and wish him a speedy recovery!
