The Netflix charts look a whole lot different this week. Norway’s first werewolf movie debuted and immediately claimed the #1 spot in non-English films. That’s right. Viking Wolf clawed its way to the top spot with some help from viewers like you.
In the film, Thale moves with her parents to a small town after her mother takes a new job. After a student is killed brutally at a party Thale attends, she becomes a key witness. Was the killer an animal? A wolf?
Viking Wolf was directed by Stig Svendsen. It was written by Espen Aukan and Stig Svendsen. The film stars Liv Mjönes, Elli Rhiannon Müller Osborne, and Arthur Hakalahti. Viking Wolf is also known as Vikingulven.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their love for the film. The creature design is especially blowing minds and earning fans. Some are even comparing the movie to An American Werewolf In London.
That’s a lot of high praise, and we love to see it. We stan a good werewolf film and especially love it when they’re good. Happy to see Norway’s first foray into wolves is a hit. Here’s hoping they give us more soon!
