John Logan/Sam Mendes TV Project Now Heading to Showtime

Last November we got word that the duo behind Skyfall, co-writer John Logan and director Sam Mendes, were working on something for TV, and now that the project has found a home at Showtime, we have a few more details.

Per Deadline, the pay cable network, flying high on the critical success of “Homeland,” has landed the pair’s high-concept drama project, which Logan and Mendes took out to premium cable networks in November as a spec written by Logan. Deals are still being finalized, but the word is that the project is eying a straight-to-series order at Showtime, with Mendes expected to direct. This would mark both Logan and Mendes’ series debut. They are executive producing the show with Pippa Harris, Mendes’ partner at Neal Street Prods.

The untitled drama, which has undergone some tweaking from the original spec to tailor it to Showtime’s audience (our prior story is here if you’re curious), is described as “a psychological horror drama series with literary underpinnings, including Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, set in the 1800s.
