Word on the street suggests Kevin Smith’s upcoming Masters of the Universe series on Netflix, Master of the Universe: Revelation, will put Teela (voiced by Buffy the Vampire Slayers‘ Sarah Michelle Gellar) in the forefront. [Stop reading now if you have a low tolerance for potential spoilers!]
After dissecting the series’ synopsis (below) fans are hypothesizing that Teela, not He-Man, will be the main hero in Master of the Universe: Revelation.
Synopsis:
The war for Eternia culminates in Masters of the Universe: Revelation, an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.
If Teela is so important in the new series, then why doesn’t she have a new action figure? What gives? This is a question one fan posed to Smith on Twitter this morning–and Smith responded!
So what does Smith’s response mean? I’ll leave that to you guys to debate, but I definitely want to hear your thoughts!

Kevin Smith is the showrunner on the series which is written by Marc Bernardin (Castle Rock, Alphas), Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), Diya Mishra (Magic the Gathering) and Tim Sheridan (Reign of the Supermen). Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) is the composer.
