Yesterday, Blumhouse pulled an April Fools on the internet. They released a trailer for a fake film El Chupacabras from director Issa Lopez’s (Tigers Are Not Afraid). I don’t know about you but I actually want to see the flick now.

And now it looks like a few fellow fans want to see it too.

Blumhouse also tweeted the “secret” project would hit this summer. Issa Lopez was also quoted. She said, “As a Mexican filmmaker, I’m a firm believer there can never be enough movies about El Chupacabras. And I’m here to deliver on that promise.”

Producer Jason Blum added, “Just when you thought there was a movie I wouldn’t make — I present, El Chupacabras.” Check out the trailer for yourself also below.

Issa Lopez’s Tigers Are Not Afraid begins when a girl’s mother disappears leaving her on her own. The little girl then joins a gang of street children, leading to a tragic chain of events. The film also sports a 97% rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Tigers Are Not Afraid draws on childhood trauma. The story deftly blends magical fantasy and also hard-hitting realism – and leaves a lingering impact.
