Bonus Features:
Event Horizon begins when the titular spaceship suddenly reappears, after vanishing years earlier. A team goes to investigate with the ship’s creator. Capt. Miller leads the crew of the Lewis and Clark and begins to explore the seemingly abandoned vessel. However, it soon becomes evident that something sinister resides in its corridors. And also the horrors that befell the Event Horizon’s previous journey are still present.
Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) stars along with Lawrence Fishburne (The Matrix). Joely Richardson (Color Out of Space) joins with Kathleen Quinlan (The Hills Have Eyes), Richard T. Jones (Godzilla), and also Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2).
The lost cut of Event Horizon has been teased for what seems like forever. But Anderson says the only way to truly recreate it is to shoot new material with digitally de-aged original stars Joely Richardson, Lawrence Fishburne, and Jason Isaacs.
Anderson says: “I think the only way to truly recreate the lost cut of Event Horizon… is, actually, to shoot new material…C’mon Paramount Pictures, all I need is a bit of money, and I can go and shoot all of that stuff with [Richardson, Fishburne, and Isaacs]. A little bit of de-aging, and we can just go shoot the whole thing again.”
For those that don’t know, Paramount made Anderson re-edit his first 130-minute cut to the 96-minute version we know and love. Supposedly, a copy of the first cut exists. On a VHS owned by producer Lloyd Levin. But we’ll see if it ever surfaces.
In the meantime, Amazon and Paramount are also developing a series adaptation of the sci-fi horror film. Adam Wingard (Godzilla vs. Kong, Blair Witch, The Guest, You’re Next, and Death Note) will executive produce and also direct the potential series.
