Netflix has ordered a new YA vampire series First Kill that will be executive produced by Emma Roberts (American Horror Story, Scream Queens).
It is unknown at this point if Roberts will be part of the cast. That said, we’ll keep up to date with the series and pass along updates as we hear them. Stay tuned.
Based on the short story by Victoria “V.E.” Schwab (Shades of Magic, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue) from the anthology Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite, the eight-episode season begins when it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope. But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter, from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.
Roberts and Karah Preiss will executive produce with Schwab serving as creator-writer and showrunner Felicia D. Henderson (Fringe) also serving as co-writer.
