On her Facebook page Harris wrote, “I’m working very hard on the last Sookie novel, which (as you might predict) is a nerve-wracking process.” It will be her lucky 13th entry in the popular franchise.
What this means for the TV show, which is about to begin its fifth season, the last for showrunner Alan Ball, is anyone’s guess. Reports are that while previous seasons have veered off dramatically from the books, Season Five will be incorporating a good bit more directly from the fifth book. But we don’t think there’s any need to worry; with eight more books to choose from, the series should enjoy a nice long run if HBO decides to keep it on the air.
The 12-episode fifth season of “True Blood” kicks off Sunday, June 10th, at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO.
