Calling all X-Files fans. Fox is developing an animated comedy series presently going by the strange semi-Breaking Bad-esque title The X-Files: Albuquerque.

TV Line reports the show follows an office of misfit agents who investigate cases that are deemed too ridiculous to merit the attention of Mulder and Scully.

While Fox has given The X-Files: Albuquerque a script commitment, the studio hasn’t been given it a series order just yet. It’s also worth noting that, as of now, neither David Duchovny nor Gillian Anderson are involved with the show.

That said, The X-Files creator Chris Carter is involved and will executive produce with Gabe Rotter and Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko who will pen the pilot for 20th Television and Fox Entertainment. Bento Box will provide animation.

In one of the longest-running science fiction series in network TV history, FBI special agents investigate unexplained, mind-bending cases known as “X-Files.” Though the government is convinced that the outlandish reports are false, conspiracy theorist Fox Mulder and realist Dana Scully, for most of the series, stop at nothing to prove that “the truth is out there.” Series creator Chris Carter also serves as executive producer of the thrilling pop-culture phenomenon.
