Per Deadline the deal was done by CBS Films Co-President Wolfgang Hammer and EVP of Acquisitions & Co-Productions Scott Shooman. The film isn’t finished, but CBS Films acquired it in at a similar state as when the division bought The Woman in Black.
The film follows best friends who go on a whirlwind trip around the world. All goes well until they have an unusual encounter that will alter them forever. It is a found footage-style thriller with (Deadline hears) a vampire angle. Chris Ferguson and Zach Lipovsky produced, backed by Telefilm Canada. IM Global’s Stuart Ford, Automatik’s Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Alliance’s Charles Layton are the executive producers.
Ford, IM Global’s Jonathan Deckter, Kavanaugh-Jones, and Verve combined to close the deal. IM Global is handling international territories at Cannes, with Alliance holding rights in Canada, the UK, and Spain.
