Netflix has snagged the rights to the post-apocalyptic thriller Dark Days at the Magna Carta which is set to star Blake Lively and be produced by Stranger Things‘ Shawn Levy.
The project hails from scribe Michael Paisley who worked as a writer’s production assistant last year on The Witcher last year. The project is envisioned as a trilogy and is described as a character-driven thriller set against a catastrophic event and centers on a woman going to extreme lengths to survive and save her family. While the story is not related to a contagion, THR reports a world-altering event is a key foil, and themes of isolation and strength of family emerge.
Lively and Levy will produce with Kate Vorhoff and Dan Cohen.
