Seth Grahame-Smith is well known for being a writer who likes to take classic tales and add some horror into the mix. Anyone who’s read his books knows what we’re talking about. Now he’s setting his sights on a tale from another good book, and we can hear the complaining already.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Unholy Night is the latest terror tale by Grahame-Smith, the cross-genre-loving author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

His latest is a reimagining of the Three Wise Kings, aka the Magi, as thieves who are reluctantly forced to protect Mary and baby Jesus, with an epic action-adventure ensuing.

The book hits shelves April 10, but it is already in development at Warner Bros. Grahame-Smith, who wrote the script for this summer’s big-screen version of Abraham Lincoln, not to mention the Tim Burton-directed Dark Shadows movie, is working on the script for Unholy Night.
