The Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan has a new Netflix series in the works, Midnight Mass. And today Flanagan let us know that while he is only directing one episode of The Haunting of Bly Manor, he’ll helm all seven episodes of Midnight Mass.

The seven-episode series was announced back in July. It centers on an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events — and frightening omens — after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest. Flanagan directs and executive produces with Trevor Macy.

The Haunting of Hill House and Halloween Kills actor Robert Longstreet is the only known cast member at this time. But that’s good enough for me.

Flanagan and Netflix have teamed up in the past for projects such as the Stephen King adaptation Gerald’s Game, the killer thriller Hush, and Before I Wake with Jacob Trembly.

Their next offering is the much anticipated second season of The Haunting of Hill House dubbed The Haunting of Bly Manor. It’s based on Henry James’ psychological gothic horror novella, The Turn of the Screw and is set to debut on the streaming giant in 2020.
