Born on this day in 1928: Clu Gulager

Born William Martin Gulager of Cherokee ancestry, his nickname Clu comes from the clu-clu bird, which, in English, is the martin bird.

Much of Gulager’s early work was in westerns and in law enforcement shows. In the 1980s, he became well known for his work in the horror genre, starting with The Return of the Living Dead. Other genre work includes A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge; The Hidden; Teen Vamp; Uninvited; Feast; Piranha 3DD; and Children of the Corn: Runaway
