We use the term “Master of Horror” often. Sometimes it applies, sometimes … not so much. But there is no arguing that Stephen King is not only a Master of Horror, but perhaps THE Master of Horror. And we’re lucky enough to have a video of him reading from his upcoming book, the sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep.

King was a guest of honor at the Savannah Book Festival Closing Ceremony this past Sunday, February 18th. He discussed his tremendous library of past works, the evolution of his new book 11/22/63 and, most exciting of all, he read an excerpt from Doctor Sleep, the upcoming sequel to his historic haunted hotel tale, The Shining.

Although most of the book follows a 40-year-old Danny Torrance, the section King reads in this video deals with the events immediately after the destruction of the Overlook Hotel.
