Horror fans know the name William Butler well. The horror veteran is the writer/director of modern cult classics like Madhouse, Furnace, and The Gingerbread Man franchise. He’s also the actor who played Michael in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. Now, Butler is veering into the arena of family-friendly action with his upcoming film, My Babysitter the Superhero! It’s been described as “Uncle Buck meets Power Rangers”.
“My amazing actor friends, Mo Collins (Fear the Walking Dead), Maile Flanagan (Disney Lab Rats), Jim O’Heir (Parks and Rec), Alex Skuby (King of Queens), and a cast of kids, stunt people, and the hardest working crew of professionals I have ever known stepped up and worked for 15 days solid… not receiving a single penny,” Butler tells us about his upcoming film. “We all did the project because we genuinely love what we do. People brought food, people donated help – and just when I thought I had called in my last favor, another person stepped up and volunteered.”
Now you can be the hero by helping complete the project. Butler has launched an Indiegogo campaign to secure finishing funds for My Babysitter The Superhero.
In addition to cameo appearances, on-screen credits, autographed DVDs, posters, shirts, and other memorabilia, Butler is offering several unprecedented perks to entice genre fans to donate, including:
Unlike most films seeking crowdfunding, My Babysitter The Superhero has already been filmed. Butler and crew are simply seeking funds to complete post-production, including special effects, editing, music, color correction, and sound design.
