Stephen King has always been a huge fan of the pioneering punk rock outfit the Ramones, so much so that he invited them out to his Maine estate in Bangor when the band toured New England in the 1980s. The meeting inspired Dee Dee Ramone to pen the song “Pet Sematary” for Mary Lambert’s adaptation of King’s novel, which was in pre-production at the time.
“Pet Sematary” made it into the film’s closing credits and became a hit for the Ramones as a single on their album Brain Drain, released in 1989.
Now, Pet Sematary is back in the limelight following the release of a new film adaptation helmed by Starry Eyes duo Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer. One of the only moments of levity in the entire movie comes during the end credits in the form of a cover of the Ramones’ “Pet Sematary” by Starcrawler. It’s an infectious little ear-worm sure to get you feet tapping.

Synopsis:
Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discover a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbour Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.
