Half reimagining of the Salem Witch trials, half social commentary on the most dangerous aspects of social media, Assassination Nation looks like the kind of envelope-pushing, R-rated horror genre fans can’t get enough of. I’m loathed to admit that I missed it myself, but the trailer (at the bottom of the article) looks fantastic. Now, I can finally look forward to adding Assassination Nation to my Blu-ray collection when it arrives online and in brick and mortar retailers on December 18th!

Synopsis:
High school senior Lily and her group of friends live in a haze of texts, posts, selfies and chats just like the rest of the world. So, when an anonymous hacker starts posting details from the private lives of everyone in their small town, the result is absolute madness leaving Lily and her friends questioning whether they’ll live through the night.
