According to Variety eOne has inked a multi-territory deal, including U.S. rights, for Valeri Milev’s Code Red, which was being shopped by Outsider Pictures at the American Film Market earlier this month.
The flick’s story follows a female doctor struggling to find her daughter after a long lost World War II biological weapon explodes on a U.S. military base in Bulgaria, turning people into mutant zombies.
Milev, who recently directed Re-Kill for After Dark Films, will helm the film, which he says will present “a brand new type of zombie” for the screen.
Code Red is produced by Bashar Rahal and Indifilms, will begin lensing in March, and is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2012.
