Muschietti & DiCaprio Team for New Version of H.G. Wells’ THE TIME MACHINE

It was just the other day that we let you guys know that IT director Andres Muschietti is set to helm Warner Bros.’ upcoming big-budget adaptation of Attack on Titan, and today we have news on another big project coming soon from the Mama director.

Deadline reports that Muschietti will be teaming up with Leonardo DiCaprio and his producer sister Barbara to develop a new version of H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine.

Andy and Barbara Muschietti have written a treatment for the film and Andy will direct it. Barbara will produce with Jennifer Davisson and DiCaprio. Arnold Leibovit will be executive producer. Leibovit executive produced the 2002 Simon Wells version starring Guy Pearce as well.

Muschietti recently wrapped It: Chapter Two, which hits theaters September 6, 2019.

Synopsis:

The tale revolves around an inventor who hopes to alter the events of the past and travels 800,000 years into the future, where he finds humankind divided into warring races.
