The great thing about the American Film Market gearing up the first week of November is all the exciting new movies that get announced as they seek distribution and financing. Such is the case of Beneath the Deep, a new killer crocodile movie currently in pre-production being produced by Hanninal Pictures from the co-writer of the 1999 USA Network TV movie Atomic Train and to be helmed by an extremely talented cinematographer whose directorial filmography reads like the cruel twist befallen someone who wished upon a monkey’s paw to become a Hollywood filmmaker.
A storm capsizes a diving vessel, trapping the crew and a group of divers in a cove where a saltwater crocodile will stop at nothing to protect its young.
If that premise sounds a like Greg McLean’s 2007 killer crocodile movie Rogue that’s probably because they do sound very similar.
