A week or so back, we let you guys know that Bill Skarsgård (It) and Maika Monroe (It Follows) had signed on to lead Dan Berk and Robert Olsen’s darkly comedic thriller Villains.

Today it looks like Kevin Bacon’s better half, Kyra Sedgwick (The Woodsman), and Michelle Woods’ husband, Jeffrey Donovan (Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows), have joined the film as well, which began principal photography this week in New York.

Being that the film’s synopsis includes “a pair of amateur criminals” breaking into a suburban home, and stumbling upon “two sadistic homeownersm” I can only assume that Skarsgard and Monroe play the “amateur criminals” and Sedgwick and Donovan play the “sadistic homeowners.” But I could be wrong…

What do you think of this casting and/or the movie in general thus far? Let us know below!

Berk and Olsen previously wrote, produced, and directed Body for Oscilloscope Laboratories and directed The Stakelander, a sequel to Jim Mickle’s Stake Land. The duo will direct Villains from their own script, which was on the 2016 Black List.

Tim and Trevor White are producing for Star Thrower, along with production head Allan Mandelbaum, and Garrick Dion is producing for The Realm. BRON’s Aaron L. Gilbert and Creative Wealth Media’s Jason Cloth are executive producers. Rick Rickertsen and Mary Solomon are co-producing. Endeavor Content is representing North American rights.

Synopsis:
After breaking into a suburban home, a pair of amateur criminals stumble upon a dark secret and two sadistic homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out.
