But I have still yet to witness the man’s first flick Schlock… But that all might change this April.
Yes, it turns out that Turbine Media Group will bring Landis’ long out-of-print debut feature film Schlock to Blu-ray for the first time ever in an exclusive dual-format media book Blu-ray/DVD combo set this April.
The media book packaging features original artwork and a bound-in, fully illustrated booklet with rare pictures and new writing on the film in German and English. Limited to 2000 copies this low-budget flick is filled with wild movie references and absurd gags, with the then 22-year-old filmmaker paying respect to some of his favorite films like King Kong, 2001, The Blob, and Frankenstein.
Schlock is also the beginning of Landis’ partnership with makeup artist extraordinaire Rick Baker. You can check out the cover art to the right and then below you can find the Blu-ray trailer along with the film’s theatrical trailer and a gallery of images of the new edition. Give it all a look and then let us know if you plan to snag a copy on Blu-ray!
