Picture this … you’re hurrying to get somewhere and all of a sudden you realize you’re being chased. Or maybe it’s your imagination. Either way, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you.

According to Variety Canadian heavyweight helmer Bruce McDonald (pictured right) is attached to direct the $25 million supernatural thriller Dark Highway for Palomar Pictures and Foundation Features.

The film, which will lens in Canada, is penned by Christopher Kyle and produced by Palomar’s Sigurjon Sighvatsson (Killer Elite) and Foundation’s Rob Merilees (Just Friends).

The story follows a man being chased who is trying to get to a certain place in one day. He doesn’t know whether the situation is real or his imagination.

Dark Highway is expected to go into production early next year and is at the advanced negotiation stages for casting. “I’m excited to bring Bruce to an international mainstream audience,” said Sighvatsson. “It will be great to see him direct this elevated drama.
