During this year’s SXSW Convention in Austin, TX, we got the opportunity to spend a few minutes with A Quiet Place‘s John Krasinski, who not only starred in the film but was also the writer and director.

We asked him about the importance of hiring deaf actress Millicent Simmonds, his thoughts on horror now that he’s a part of the genre, and a cheeky little nod to “The Office” when we asked what he thought Jim Halpert would think of the movie! Check it all out above and make sure to also watch our interview with Platinum Dunes’ Andrew Form and Brad Fuller!

Emily Blunt stars alongside Krasinski, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds. A Quiet Place comes to theaters on April 6.

Synopsis:
A family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you.
