Outlast Heading to Switch Early Next Year

The Outlast franchise will be heading to the Nintendo Switch in the first quarter of 2018, developer Red Barrels confirmed on Facebook. They didn’t confirm which entry or entries in the franchise they were referring to, although they did upload a picture of one of the games running on the system.

Their lengthy Facebook post also revealed that Outlast 3 will definitely happen at one point, but in the meantime, they plan to create what they refer to as a “distinct experience set in the Outlast universe”, which they stressed won’t be a sequel Outlast or Outlast 2. I guess that means it will be a spinoff of sorts, but we’ll just have to wait and see what they have in mind.

They also clarified that, despite the demand, Outlast 2 will not receive any DLC because it was always meant to feel like an isolated experience. In any case, we’ll keep you updated as soon as we learn more about Outlast’s Switch debut.
