If you’re like me, you’re already playing The Evil Within 2 (and cursing that you have to take time out of your play session to post a gallery…). Follow up to the 2014 horror hit, The Evil Within 2 continues Sebastians story as he tries to rescue his daughter Lily. He’s once again forced into the world of STEM, where it turns out everything is fine and he goes home happy. Naw, just kidding, everything’s all blood and body-part-marionettes again. Don’t worry, you’ll hear all about it in my upcoming review.

If you’re still on the fence—or just haven’t managed to pick up your copy yet—then good news! The good people over at Bethesda have gifted me with this special screenshot gallery! Check out the accompanying images along with some comments from the devs, and stay tuned for my full review. In the mean time, tell me, are you excited to once again shit your pants from screaming limb monsters? I know I am!

The Evil Within 2 transports you to a world filled with horrors beyond imagination, with death and dismemberment lurking around every corner. But it didn’t start out that way. What began as an idyllic setting has been transformed into a twisted vision of small-town America. That’s because the entire town of Union was built in STEM using a very pure and untainted mind as its foundation (or Core): Sebastian Castellanos’ own daughter, Lily. But when Lily goes missing within STEM, the world loses its Core, and everything starts to go to hell. Now it’s up to Sebastian to find his daughter and get her out before the entire STEM system collapses with both of them inside.more
The Evil Within 2 throws Sebastian into a variety of terrifying environments; some that are reminiscent of the claustrophobic horror from first game, as well as larger areas that will leave you free to approach this nightmarish world in any way you wish. Whether you decide to blend into the darkness to save on ammo and poke around every last dark corner of Union, or confront these gruesome creatures head-on, every player will find the playstyle they’re after.more
The Evil Within 2 offers much more flexible pacing than its predecessor, and the non-linear nature of the world will allow you to do as much or as little exploring as you’d like. How you choose to play the game – whether you race through the world with guns blazing, or stalk quietly through the shadows while conserving ammo and finding every single hidden feature – is completely up to you.more
Explore the collapsing streets and take a trip into some of the locals’ homes as you try to unravel the mysteries of this STEM system, as well as Sebastian’s past. Resonance Points are echoes of Union that you’ll find throughout the game, and can be discovered when using your Communicator or by noticing visual anomalies. You can investigate Resonance points to gain insight and reveal information that will help you piece together the story of what happened to Union, and maybe even get rewarded with some helpful items like resources and collectibles. more
