Remember when the supernatural elements in the Metal Gear series were presented in a subtle manner? Neither do I because Metal Gear Survive ditches subtlety for hoards of flesh-eating zombies. The game that nobody asked for received a new batch of screenshots at Gamescom, and I have to say it looks… well, it looks like a Metal Gear video game with zombies in it.
It’s set to arrive on PC, PS4 and Xbox One next year, and you can view the Gamescom images below.
I’m not holding my breath for it to be a hit, as much as Konami desperately needs a win these days. In addition to giving Hideo Kojima the sack and barring him from attending the Game Awards Ceremony, it also recently came to light that Konami is also attempting to prevent former employees from purchasing health insurance. Sheesh.
However, in a rare smart business decision from Konami, the HD version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty was released on Android earlier this month.
Synopsis:
Metal Gear Survive is a survival action game in an alternative universe. In a struggle to survive and understand this new environment, players engage in both a single play and connected co-op play. In the battle for survival scavenged materials must be wrought into usable items, gear, and weapons if you are to have any hope of making it home.
