Illfonic and Gun Media are still busting their butts squashing bugs, etc., in Friday the 13th: The Game (review), but they’re also working on some new DLC in the form of variant maps and counselor emotes.

Via the Friday the 13th: The Game Facebook page:

Just a couple things we are working on for you guys (currently in-progress) for an upcoming patch.

First off; 8 emotes… all free!

Also coming are three free variant maps of Camp Crystal Lake, Packanack Lodge and Higgins Haven. Faster, smaller, deadlier.

Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor or, for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. It’s built on a multiplayer platform, with one team playing the counselors and one person playing Voorhees. The former have to find a way to survive either by hiding or escaping. Jason’s role is simple: kill everyone.

Gun Media has officially announced physical copies for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are on their way! The physical copies will be coming out on perhaps the most appropriate date ever: Friday, October 13th, and will cost $40 upon release. A bonus feature for the physical disc will be a free Bloody Jason Skin for all playable Jasons and free pack of clothing for each of the playable camp counselors.
