Pacific Rim Uprising Has Been Pushed Back But Not By Too Much

Legendary has pushed back the release date for Pacific Rim Uprising, the sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 giant monster sci-fi/action film, from February 23, 2018, to March 23, 2018. So, exactly one month, which isn’t too long; and we shouldn’t feel too bad about this. The reason for the shift is unclear.

Directed by Steven S. DeKnight, the film stars John Boyega (Attack the Block, The Force Awakens) as the son of Idris Elba’s character in the original, Stacker Pentecost. Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny, Ivanna Sakhno, and Adria Arjona co-star.

Thomas Tull, Mary Parent, Jon Jashni, and Guillermo del Toro produce the action adventure film along with Boyega and Femi Oguns under their Upper Room Productions banner. Cale Boyter serves as executive producer.
