British director Iain Softley has previously dabbled in the horror genre with the supernatural flick The Skeleton Key, and it looks like he’s gearing up to revisit that well with another genre production. Step inside to learn a little more.

Softley’s Trap for Cinderella is in the midst of a London and France shoot, via Forthcoming Productions. The film stars Alexandra Roach, Bill Bailey and Tuppence Middleton (Tortured) and revolves around a young amnesiac attempting to reclaim her life after a devastating house fire claims the life of her best friend.

Of course, this film shares a title and premise with the 1965 film of the same name, leading to the inevitable conclusion that this is a remake of the André Cayatte original. Not much else is known as this time, but we’ll bring you more on Softley’s latest film as we have it. Sounds like there could be some twisted potential to the storyline even though I’m hard pressed to cite a film I’ve enjoyed from this director – first time for everything though, right?
