Remembering George A. Romero by Judith O’Dea

For me, George Romero was so much taller than his regular 6’4”. He was one of the most creative, imaginative, innovative, and humorous people I have ever met. Our time together on set was exhilarating and so informative for me.

I can remember he taught me how to load film cartridges in a black bag. I watched him rip pieces of cardboard then attachment them to a light pole to create some of the neatest shadows across our scenes.

And, as the decades went by, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him regale convention audiences with “inside” stories about how he got started in “The Business” and how Night of the Living Dead was made.
Oh, George, you left too soon! I and so many others will miss you dearly.

With best regards,

– “Barbra” aka Judith O’Dea
